Aurorean Editor Cynthia Brackett-Vincent joined Cecile Ann Lawrence at River Read Books in Binghamton, NY for a reading from Contemporary American Women: Our Defining Passages. Cecile read her essay, "Running Away Towards," and Cynthia read excerpts from the anthology.

Contemporary American Women: Our Defining Passages, co-edited by Cynthia Brackett-Vincent (All Things That Matter Press; co-editor, Carol Smallwood). The new anthology includes over fifty articles by more than thirty-five diverse American women—all talented writers—who revisit, celebrate, and share defining moments in their lives. Share intimate glimpses into the lives of our sisters, friends, aunts, mentors, wives, grandmothers, partners, mothers, daughters—ourselves.

Diane LeBlanc, Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Director of College Writing, St. Olaf College writes of the collection: “The authentic, often lyrical prose speaks to a broad audience within and beyond academics.”
